　　1. Product Description

　　Position sensors must provide precise, high-quality signals to support the movement of the cylinder and enable accurate, continuous roll gap measurement. Metal rolling produces strips of corresponding thickness. The roll gap defines the thickness of the rolled material, so it is crucial to have very accurate and reliable position measurements.

　　We combine other data from the rolling mill stands with position signals and other information we can collect from sensors in the automation system. We are able to perform condition monitoring of AGC cylinders and obtain information to determine predictive maintenance intervals. All of this enables users to avoid unplanned downtime and reduce costs, thereby increasing reliability and performance.

　　2. Composition

　　Position sensors usually consist of two basic parts. One part remains fixed in place while the other part moves with the mechanism whose displacement is being measured. The exact nature and dimensions of the fixed and moving parts depend on the sensing technology used. Some sensors are designed to be integrally mounted to a mechanism, while other sensors are designed to be mounted externally.
